FCSC & ADDED sign MoU to establish a strategic partnership

The UAE’s Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre and the Competitiveness Office of Abu Dhabi (COAD), part of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a strategic partnership and create a platform for mutual exchange and knowledge-sharing activities towards fueling productivity growth and economic and living for the citizens of the UAE.

The MoU, signed by H.E. Hanan Ahli , Acting Director of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre (FCSC) and HE Rashed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, Undersecretary of ADDED,  reflects FCSC and COAD’s keenness to develop coherent policies and strategies to promote sustainable growth in the UAE, aligned with the country's competitiveness strategy. It also stressed the importance of Emirate-level competitiveness policies and institutions’ contributions to regional, national, and international competitiveness.

FCSC and COAD agreed to arrange programs for capacity building by holding workshops, conferences, and events to raise awareness as well as knowledge transfer. The two parties will conduct joint studies and initiatives on topics related to the mutual competitiveness of the UAE and Abu Dhabi and will be working together with international bodies.

They also agreed to cooperate in developing and exchanging research and economic indicators studies, supporting the economic development and diversification, developing research methods and scientific methodologies to meet decision-makers’ needs for high-quality, accurate and applicable studies, reports and memoranda.

H.E. Hanan Ahli , Acting Director of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre (FCSC) said: "We are delighted to be working with Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development to support our partnership, which coincides with FCSC’s vision, strategic objectives and the principle of “knowledge for prosperity”, and promote building innovative partnerships with government and private entities. This agreement adds a new channel of strategic partnerships that we are keen to build to enhance the UAE's competitiveness in global reports and indicators, and to share and make data available to our government and private partners quickly and effectively."

HE Rashed Abdulkarim Al Blooshi, Undersecretary of ADDED said, “We are pleased to sign this MoU with FCSC to reinforce our partnership, to support sustainable development. It also reflects COAD’s aim to improve the competitiveness environment by cooperating with various government and private agencies”.

Hala Al Ameri, Director of the Competitiveness Office of Abu Dhabi said: “We are looking forward to share and exchange expertise and continue to collaborate on creating opportunities to enhance the national and emirates’ economic competitiveness”.
