According to Law No. (7) of 2018, the main task of the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi is to reorganise the business and economic affairs sector and propose related policies and legislations. To this end, the Department is responsible for organising the various aspects of the economic sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi through establishing the executive and operational policies, regulations, standards, systems, decisions, and circulars organising this sector. This task is mandated to the Department’s Policies and Legislations Sector in coordination and cooperation with the Department’s other sectors and local and federal government bodies. The Sector submits periodic reports and recommendations to the Executive Office of the Abu Dhabi Government based on analytical studies.
